A journey through time
Stepping inside the church, we were immediately impressed by the generous dimensions and the light that enters through the tall windows, illuminating the Byzantine mosaics that have survived throughout the centuries. It is fascinating to look at these fine details of art, which tell stories of faith and divine protection.
The Crypt of Saint Demetrius
The most solemn moment of our visit was descending into the crypt, located under the main altar.
