If you truly want to feel the pulse of history, the Roman Forum is the place to be. On a warm afternoon, we lost ourselves among the columns of ancient temples and climbed the Palatine Hill to admire the panoramic view.
The Afternoon Visit
We chose to visit the Forum in the afternoon, when the sunlight begins to fall gently over the ruins, giving them a magical aura. We explored the Via Sacra, admired the Arch of Titus, and imagined the hustle and bustle that animated this civic center two thousand years ago. It was a long walk, but full of discoveries at every step.
Towards evening, at the Colosseum
We structured the day so that we had the Roman Forum and the Palatine as a historical "appetizer," preparing us for the centerpiece of the evening: the Colosseum. With our tickets reserved for the evening, we took advantage of the afternoon hours to explore everything at leisure, without rushing, savoring every detail of this open-air museum before the grand meeting with the world's most famous amphitheater.
