A hearty dinner ready in less than an hour! Tender pork ribs and crispy potatoes, with minimal effort and a restaurant-like taste.
There are days when time seems to compress, but the craving for something "restaurant-like" remains just as strong. For those moments, I discovered the magic formula: ready-marinated pork ribs.
Recently, I tested the ribs from Periș, and the result was beyond expectations. The meat came out so tender that it fell off the bone on its own, and the potatoes borrowed from the flavors of the spices, becoming extremely crispy on the outside.
Here's how you can prepare a hearty dinner in less than an hour, with minimal effort:
🛒 Ingredients needed
You don't need a long shopping list, which makes the recipe even more attractive:
• 1 pack of Marinated Pork Ribs (I recommend @perisromania for freshness); • 6-7 medium potatoes (choose a baking variety); • Spices: salt, special mix for potatoes; • Sunflower oil (to ensure that crispy texture); • Garnish: pickled cucumbers (or any other pickles you prefer).
👨🍳 Preparation: Step by Step
- Preparing the ribs: Start by preheating the oven to 170°C. Prepare a large tray lined with baking paper. Take the ribs out of the package and place them exactly as they are in the tray.
- The secret of tenderness: Cover the tray tightly with aluminum foil. This will create a self-steaming effect, which makes the meat extremely soft. Leave them in the oven for 20 minutes.
- Preparing the potatoes: While the ribs are cooking, peel and coarsely cut the potatoes (wedges). In a generous bowl, mix them with salt, your favorite spices, and a generous splash of sunflower oil. The oil is essential to create the barrier that will make them "crunchy."
- Cooking together: After the first 20 minutes, take out the tray and place the potatoes next to the ribs. Put the foil back (or leave it open if you want the browning to start already) and leave everything in the oven for another 20 minutes.
- The "Extra-Crispy" finish: For the last 10 minutes, we make the big change:
- Remove the aluminum foil permanently.
- Increase the temperature to 200°C.
- Set the oven to the top-bottom heat function with ventilation.
- This is the moment when the potatoes become golden, and the ribs get that slightly caramelized and delicious crust.
🍽️ Serving and Recommendations
We chose to serve these ribs with pickled cucumbers, which bring the necessary acidity to balance the rich taste of the pork.
Why does this recipe work?
• Active work time: maximum 10 minutes. • Dirty dishes: just a bowl and a tray. • Result: juicy meat that doesn't require a knife to be eaten.
I hope you try this quick version too and tell me in the comments: what garnish do you prefer next to the ribs? 🤭
